How much does it cost to rent a car in Kigali?
Our rates start at $35 per day for a Toyota RAV4, $55 for a 7-seat Kia Sorento, $80 for a Toyota Prado and $170 for a safari 4x4. Insurance, unlimited mileage and free Kigali delivery are included.
What do I need to rent a car in Rwanda?
You must be at least 20, with a valid driving licence (plus an International Driving Permit if it is not in English or French) and your passport or national ID. A refundable deposit of $100–$500 applies, depending on the car.
Can you deliver the car to Kigali Airport?
Yes. Delivery and collection at Kigali International Airport, hotels and addresses in Kigali are free, 24/7.
Can I rent a car with a driver?
Yes. Every car can be booked with a local driver for $20 per day, for airport transfers, business travel, events or national park trips.
What does the insurance cover?
Every rental includes basic insurance. We explain the cover and the deposit for your car when you book, so you can add a driver or choose another car if you prefer.
Is mileage unlimited?
Yes. All rentals include unlimited mileage for travel within Rwanda.
Do I need a 4x4 in Rwanda?
Main roads are paved, so an SUV is fine for Kigali, Musanze, Rubavu and Nyungwe. For Akagera game drives, rural roads and the rainy season, a 4x4 is recommended.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes. The refundable deposit is $100–$500, depending on the car you choose.
How do I pay?
By card. We accept cards from almost any bank worldwide, and prices are in US dollars.
What is the fuel policy?
Your car comes with enough fuel to reach the nearest station, and you can return it with any fuel level.
